Jose Farinos

Vice Chair to the Treasure Coast Research, Education and Development Authority Board is Jose L. Farinos, B. Arch., M.U.R.P. Mr. Farinos is Dean of Advance Technology at Indian River State College. His experience lends expertise to program and curriculum development of several departments including: Power Plant Technology Institute, Robotics and Photonics Institute, Cyber Security Institute, Digital Media Institute, Electronics Department, Computer Science Department, Advanced Manufacturing, Nanotechnology and Micro-fabrication, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Graphic Design, and Interior Design. Additionally, he is responsible for the development of a new Energy Center planned for the college. The facility will serve as a comprehensive center for energy education and training, featuring nuclear, fossil, hybrid energy efficiency and alternative energies.

Mr. Farinos’s extensive professional affiliations include Director of the Banner Center for Energy, Chair of the Uniform Curriculum Guidelines for Alternative Energy workgroup for Department of Energy’s Greenforce Florida, member of the Florida Energy Workforce Consortium, member of the Center for Energy Workforce Development, member of a pilot project sponsored by the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, member of National Ad Hoc Committee for Nuclear Energy Training with NEI and INPO, partner of the National Center for Optics and Photonics (OPTEC), Co-Chair of the Center for Academic Innovation (IRSC) and Chair of the Learning and Teaching with Technology Faculty.

Mr. Farinos received a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Urban Regional Planning from the University of Miami.
