Saturday May
21 & 22,
2010. Middle school students
designed,
built, and then
raced alternative
fuel karts
on a 1/8 mile
paved course
within the
Treasure Coast
Research Park
at Campbell
and Picos
Roads in St.
Lucie County,
Florida.This year’s
schedule of
events included
XE3 STUDENT
TECHNOLOGY
TOURS followed
by an evening
hospitality
reception
for our sponsors
and volunteers, a 5k race and the alternative fuel go-cart race..
The Technology Tours
tours give our students
a close up
look at technology
at work in
St. Lucie
County. Tech tour sponsors included Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, IRSC Kight Center, 911 Emergencey Operations Center, Nida-Core, St. Lucie County, Sunrise Theatre and Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. “Our
goal is to
immerse our
students in
the science
of energy
and vehicle

great opportunity
for each student
to develop
new skills;
recognize
their creative
potential
and for friends
and neighbors
to learn about
energy and
transportation
